Young Lions draw Woodlands at Jalan Besar

Taken from kallangroar

Drawless, again. It made me think that all Friday live telecasted games are mostly draws.

Jalan Besar, the usual artificial-pitched stadium hosted the clash between midtable teams Young Lions and Woodlands.

Woodlands Wellington got the opening when Jamil Ali's corner flew in and defender Daniel Hammond used his head to pushed it in. The ball went in with a slight deflection from Young Lions custodian Jasper Chan.

That was the half-time score, one-nil to Woodlands, who had one hand on the ground.

Woodlands Wellington could have two went they beat Jasper Chan but Irwan Shah headed it off the line.

Young Lions's attacking force were boosted with the addition Eugene Luo and Khairul Nizham to accompany Yang Mu on the attacking trio.

Young Lions found the equaliser when captain Obadin Aikhena whipped the ball in from a corner, while international central defender Precious Emuejeraye stood still at the near post.

Man of the match award went to Obadin Aikhena of Young Lions. The award was presented to him by coach Terry.

Next Friday Albriex Niigata (S) face Geylang United at Jalan Besar. Again, if you are lazy, switch on your TV at 7.25 PM at Channel 5.
