SINGAPORE: English Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur will be in Singapore in just under 10 weeks.

It is believed the 2008 League Cup champions will be here for a match against a Singapore Selection at the end of May as part of a two-match tour, with a game in Hanoi followed by a visit to the Lion City.

Sports marketing outfit The Red Card are the organisers of the tour and its director R. Sasikumar, the former Singapore defender, assured Tottenham fans that the stars will turn up.

He said: "At least 90 per cent of the team has to play, including the usual suspects. That's a contractual obligation.

"Of course, with injuries and all that, no one can predict such things, but otherwise, they'll come out with their full team.

"We're looking for at least 30,000 to 35,000 fans turning up, so at the moment, I think there's only one stadium that is available, and the National Stadium is it."

The London giants could be one of two Premiership sides to visit, as the Football Association of Singapore are currently in talks with Liverpool for a match here after the English season ends.

Tottenham last played here in 1995, losing on penalties to a Singapore XI after the game ended 1-1. - 93.8Live
