SINGAPORE: Brazilian forward Eduardo was the difference between the two sides as his brace ensured K-League champions Suwon Bluewings leave Jalan Besar Stadium with a 2-0 win at the expense of Singapore Armed Forces FC in the AFC Champions League Group G game on Wednesday evening.
After a goalless first half where the visitors were below par, they were given a lifeline in the 65th minute when they were awarded a penalty for a Daniel Bennett handball.
Up stepped Eduardo to convert on the spot, and he completed his brace six minutes later when he beat Kenji Arai on the dribble inside the box before slamming a narrow angle shot into goal.
